2. What’s the best compliment you ever received? That I have pretty eyes

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper? I guess expensive, but it doesn’t seem all that costly.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else? Not for me, but I have thrown a few surprise ones

5. What is one material possession that you “can’t live without”? I have 2, my laptop and cell phone

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to spending time with my hubby (I will be gone all next week), tomorrow my plans include getting my nails done, then off to a wedding and Sunday, I want to make sure everything is all packed for camping!

Friday ~ groceries in the morning, a quick clean up of the house, then Trent and I were off to the eye doctors. He was fitted for contacts, its going to be a long few weeks until he gets the hang of it.

Saturday ~ Took Trent to drum lessons while John was at his eye doctor appointment. Then John and I went on a drive to know where in mind, just north bound. We were stuck in traffic for a while, thinking it was construction and or accident related, but when we got up to the area, it was a car that had caught on fire. We took the shoreline trail, which took us on some curvy roads, around a few lakes: Stoney Lake, Mass Lake and then Pentwater. We went a little further and ended up in Luddinton. We walked along the pier, had dinner then headed home.

Sunday ~ We took the day off from church, so we slept in… so nice. I forgot how time consuming making a lemon meringue pie was, but I had promised one for my father in law for his birthday. We had dinner at the in laws, a game of cards, some accordion music, via my father in law, presents and dessert.

I haven’t been very good about sticking to my menu these last few weeks, which isn’t good for the budget or the waistline! I am kinda thinking that the next 3 weeks might be more of the same, with it being my last 3 weeks off of my LONG vacation.

Friday ~ started out as a beach day, but got the news that Robyn was going to be kid free for the day, so we stayed at her mother in laws pool. It was a relaxing day.

Saturday ~ John and Trent got up early to head out for a day of golfing with a few guys from church. I went to the “Women’s Day of Refresh” retreat. Great day with great friends. Then home to do some baking for church.

Sunday ~ church in the morning, then was going to be a day of relaxing once we got home. Well that changed after a few hours, I received a phone all from Christopher saying I needed to come pick him up from work as he cut his head and needed to get stitches. So off I went, which seemed like the longest drive ever to the mall. It took a while to figure out where exactly we needed to take him, got to love workman’s comp! He was up in the loft at his work getting boxes down and hit/scraped his head on one of the sprinkler heads. Ouch! An hour and a half and 6 staples later we were headed home.

During the week of July 4th, we always make homemade ice cream, so I thought to help cool us off during this hot summer week, we’d discuss ice cream.

1. What are your favorite flavors of homemade ice cream? vanilla… but its been a long time since I have had homemade ice cream

2. What are your favorite brands and flavors of store-bought ice cream? Black cherry

3. What is your absolute favorite ice cream? apple pie ala mode from Cold Stone Creamery

4. If you were making an ice cream sundae, what all would you put on it? hot fudge and hot caramel, with maybe a little whipped topping and a cherry

5. Do you prefer to eat out of an ice cream cone or out of a dish? depends on where I am when I get it… at home a dish.. if I am out I will either get a sugar cone or a waffle cone

6. Do you prefer a sugar cone, waffle cone, or regular cone? its a toss up between a sugar and waffle cone

7. Do you prefer to eat your ice cream during the summer or do you love it year-round? more in the summer
