Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family, birthday's

So I talked the hubs out of going golfing…

1. Because I have never golfed before, and knew it would take us FOREVER to finish out 9 holes.

2. A storm was rolling in. A nasty one too.

3. I really, really wanted Cold Stone Creamery ice cream!! I got a Cheesecake Fantasy waffle cone… Mmmmm… (cheescake ice cream with grahmn crackers, strawberries and blueberries)

He opened up his gift last night… we got him a shirt and some tail mix

The purpose of this meme is to record a weekly memoir of your life to look back on for your own personal reflection/enjoyment and for your children/grandchildren to enjoy and learn from your experiences. Don’t you wish your parents/grandparents had left something like this for you?? I do!! Feel free to answer all or any…whatever you want to share and record, and feel free to add any subject I may have overlooked.

Budget Savers/Busters Buster & Saver: ~ saver - I love 49 cent sale at the Salvation Army night. I got a pair of khaki shorts and a cute dress for a whopping $1.04!! This has been a huge saver for me, as I can continue my love of shopping and not put us in the poor house while I am not working. I have gotten a lot of cute clothes for next to nothing. My best find was a few weeks ago when I got a pair of Lee jeans for 49 cents!! They were in perfect condition!!

Vacation!!!

We are on vacation this week, so no MPM this week ~ I will be winging it.

Not much is planned for the week. John needs to finish up with the gutter stuff. Trent wants to go to the pool, so that will be worked in somewhere. I think John will be taking Trent to Michigan Adventure, while I stay at home. I can’t ride the rides, so I don’t want to spend the $$ to just walk around the park.

I forgot…

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family

… how much work it was to watch kids. After not watching kids all day since March, I forgot how much work it was! I had my nieces yesterday for half the day, and all day today. I love my nieces, but man, am I tired!

Yesterday, we played the Wii most of the day. Today I wanted to go visit with a friend, but mom forgot to leave me the carseat for the youngest, so we stayed home, and inside, as it is back to being hot and muggy, with the threat of rain for most of the day.

I have for the last few months, been laying back down for an hour or so after John leaves for work, and then taking a mid afternoon nap. But not the last two days, and my old body can feel it! LOL

They hinted around for tomorrow, but I won’t be home in the morning, as I am going to one of the ladies from church house to learn how to make strawberry jam.. Yum-O! Then Trent tried to plan an outing on Monday, but that is a no go as well, as I have plans already that day to. They are just going to have to wait for a while, poor Aunt Jojo, needs a break!!

I woke up to an empty house…

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family, bikes

Had a great morning at church, then stopped at Subway for lunch. Only to find the hubs already down for a nap (we ride separate to church as he has to be there early for preworship practice). The boys and I ate lunch, the oldest then went off to work, Trent was playing video game so I laid down for a nap. The next thing I knew I woke up to an empty house.

I called John on his cell to see where they went off to. Lots of static, but it sounded like they were on a bike ride. A cell phone repeater would have been nice so I could have replayed what he said. An hour or so later they came home. I told them it would have been nice if they would have left a note or something. Trent says, “Mom, I woke you up to say we were going on a bike ride.” I don’t remember him doing this. I must have been out of it… LOL

Designing our house

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family

My hubby, who is the biggest procrastinator is now wanting to desgin our own house.  I have to laugh, as it is like pulling teeth to get him to finish up the projects he needs to in our house now so we can get it on the market.  He has only wanted to sell this house for oh lets say, 3 years.  Ey-yi-yi.

So anyways, he and Trent were busy over on the desktop designing a house on autocad while I browsed the net on the laptop and found this house:

They kept asking for my input, so I said, well this is what I want.  They just rolled their eyes at me, and said, you can’t copy someone else’s design, we have to do it ourselves.  So I said, “Well then just incorporate this design into your drawing and it will be ours, cause this is what I want!”

Will this happen, probably not, as I said, my hubby is a procrastinator! But its fun to dream.

I love my Pastor’s Wife!

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family, Inspiration, love

I have some issues with my mom, therefore I don’t talk with her at all. I have been going to some counseling sessions with my Pastor’s wife for the last few months trying to deal with all of this.

She just called me to say I had been on her mind since yesterday (I didn’t get to see her as I had nursery duty at church), and wanted to call to see how I was doing and say that she would be my “honorary mom” from now on.

Switching to this church last November has been the best thing for me and my family. This phone call just made my day complete!

Mother’s Day

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family, Inspiration, love

How did you spend your Mother’s Day? I had nursery duty at church today, which was actually pretty fun this time. The kids were so much fun. We let them color some construction paper and attached a poem to it with a packet of flower seeds and had them give this to their moms. They were so touched. I am not to bummed that I missed the service as our Pastor’s wife did the message, and it was what she preached on at our Ladies Retreat this weekend. We then went out for lunch at Rio Grand. I had a yummy steak and some tilapia, I had some left over so we got our doggie bag. The waitress came back and said there was a mishap and my plate got knocked off the counter, so they were going to make up another steak (I had about half of mine left), I told her that wasn’t necessary, so she said I could have a free dessert to go. The manager then came over and said that our bill would be adjusted, she took of $10! WoW!! My meal was only $15, so I got a great meal for $5 and free dessert to boot!!

The weekend retreat was amazing! It was a great bonding time for all the women! I feel so much closer to all the women now. On the way back to our cabin one of the gals and I saw a someone in our cabin and we both said at the same time, “Oh someone beat us back to the room”. We got there to find the door locked, so when we opened it up, Sherry said “Hey, who beat us back?” No one answered us, we kinda looked at each other with that look of concern. We said hello again and still no answer. I checked the back door, but that was locked, so they didn’t go out that way. She had a pocket knife in her purse, and I grabbed the iron, and we searched the cabin, to find no one, thankfully. So we deemed them our guardian angels. Everyone teased us as they thought we were a little crazy, but her and I both know what we saw.

We had a time of rest and renewal in the Lord, my time of “washing my hands” (symbolic of being washed in the blood of the Lamb) was an amazing experience, Pastor Judy prayed over me, and just confirmed all I had heard from God prior to me going up there for prayer. The scripture I pulled out of my “treasure box” confirmed everything yet again: “My heart has been sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and my body washed with pure water” Hebrews 10:22.

All through out the night I kept hearing “Be Still”, as this has been my theme scripture for the last few months. Just “be still and know He is God”. I was thinking about this, and started humming the song “Still” by Hillsong, and the next think I knew this song started playing, right before I went up for prayer. It was a God thing for sure.
