Motivation

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family Life

I need to find some motivation so I can get busy making these baby hats. I have a few friends who are pregnant, and due in the next month or so, and I have yet to start on some knitted hats and booties. My work schedule needs to lighten up, so I can get back to what I love to do; knit.
With everything that is going on right now, I thought that picking up the knitting needles would bring me the relaxation, but it hasn’t.

I am hoping that tomorrow I will be more rested, so I can get cranking on the above projects, as well a the remainder sock I have to knit and two beard hats that I have been requested to make. As for tonight, i am going to kick back with the boob tube and my laptop. Storage wars is on, and I will be surfing the net to see if I can find some back up Baby gifts, just in case I don’t finish the knitting up in time!

I think a quick trip to Dairy Queen is in order for a blizzard, before I settle in for the night! Off to see if my hubby will go with me! Have an awesome night!!

Weekend in Review

Weekend rewind. If you want to play along, grab the above button and tell me all about your weekend!

Friday ~ Trent had the day off from school, so I went back to bed after John left. Then off to get my nails done. I would have love to have had the day off from work, so I could make a yummy dinner for our anniversary. We had a potluck at work for the “newbies”, so I made split pea and ham soup… it turned out to be really tasty!

Saturday ~ I spent the day/night with my hubby. First we headed out to test drive some cars. We drove a Saturn Vue, a Buick Rendevous, a Jeep Liberty and a Pontiac Grand Prix. The Buick was out, as it didn’t handle all that well, in our opinion. John is in love with the Prix, and I am still in a toss up between the Vue and Jeep. We may be trading in our car (fully paid for) if they give us enough for it, and get two cars. Either way we will be getting one. I am thinking it just may be the the Prix, as its John’s turn to get a new car.

We then flew home to pick up Trent so we could get him to work on time. Then off to Outback for dinner. Yum!

Sunday ~ We went to the hospital, as John’s dad is back in for the same thing as he has been dealing with for the last 3 years. We got a lot more information from one of his nurses, and hopefully we will find out what his illness is once and all!

What did you do this weekend? Let me know if you play along!

What’s up with the weather?

So far this March has been absolutely beautiful! Trent is bumming as he hasn’t been able to get out his snowboard gear. Do I feel bad for him? Um, that would be a big fat N to the O –> NO!!

We have had to only shovel 3 maybe 4 times this winter, and the driving has only been a little scary a time or two. If all of out winters were like this, I would be oh so happy!

We have had 70 degree weather for the last 5 days, and its more of the same this coming week. I just wish I didn’t have to go to work at 4 ever night. Hopefully soon I can find a part time job with daytime hours, so I can enjoy life again!

Car shopping

John and I went car shopping today, and test drove 4 different cars. I love our trusted dealers that we work with! The best part is that the guy we have been working with for the last several years, treat me like I am a human being and not some in-animated object. He doesn’t steer us wrong either. If he doesn’t feel the car is worth our time or money, he will say so.

We went in with the idea of getting a new (used) car for me, and would be giving my Saturn to John to drive and then Trent will be the owner of John’s car. And walked away with the possibility of trading in the Saturn and getting two cars. If they make our trade in worth while we just may do it!

The first one we test drove was a 2008 Saturn Vue.

What a nice ride! It had a lot of get up and go, and it put me back into that feeling of power! Yay!

The next one we test drove was a Buick Rendevous, it was a nice fully loaded car, but it just didn’t ride smoothly. So no picture of this one.

The next was a Jeep Liberty. It didn’t have all the bells and whistles like the Vue, but it was a nice ride, and it 4 wheel drive. This is the seller for John. I like it, but I really like the Saturn.

Then for chuckles and grins, John wanted to test drive a Grand Prix, so we drove this one.

He is in love with this one. He really, really wants it. So he threw out there trading in our car and seeing what we could get for it, and get two vehicles instead of just one.

All three side by side.

I have to go back in on Monday, to have them look and appraise our car to see what they will give us and we will go from there. It has been really nice not having a car payment for the last two years, but we knew we would be having one again soon, as John’s car just isn’t going to make it much longer with the distance he has to drive to and from work. It will be just fine for the short distances that Trent has to drive.

So in a few days we may or may not be the proud new owners of a couple of vehicles!

Date night!

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family Life

I am so excited! Finally a date night with my sweetie to go see “Safe House”! As soon as we drop Trent off at work its off to the movies we go, then home to get some dinner before we have to go back and pick T up from work. (I will be so glad when he finally gets his license!)

I do have a long list of “honey do’s” that need to get started this weekend, so I can keep him on a roll! But first he needs to find a replacement battery with this number, ls 14500. He isn’t haven’t all the much luck, but he always comes through, even if it does end up costing us a bit of extra money. He has been browsing the net all morning, and I think he has finally found a local place where he can go get one, so that will save us on shipping! I knew he would find a place!

For now, I have a few more things to finish up online, then its off to the shower to get this date night going!!!
