Weekend rewind. If you want to play along, grab the above button and tell me all about your weekend!

Friday ~ Trent had a snow day, so I decided to skip my normal Friday grocery shop day and went back to bed after John left. Oh how nice that was!! Spent the day relaxing before I had to go to work. A very uneventful day!

Saturday ~ I got up early to beat the crowds and got groceries, then later John and I went to Costco to stock up on some meat, and check out some prices on other things. The rest of the day was spent being lazy, watching football and knitting.

Sunday ~ More of the same, just being lazy around the house. I wasn’t feeling all that great anyways, so it was kind of nice to do nothing most of the weekend.

What did you do this weekend? Let me know if you play along!

Ole Man Winter

So that “Ole Man Winter” is trying to rear his ugly head. I hear the howling of wind, but so far nothing is happening. We are under a winter storm watch until tomorrow morning. I am hoping its not as bad as they say its going to be, as I ready for Trent to go back to school! Being off for the whole month of December was enough for me!

I have stocked up the pantry, fridge and freezer in preparation for this so called storm. I just with I had thought to look for some electric blankets, to keep us warm, as the house is still drafty, even with the plastic on the windows. So for now I am all comfy in my pj’s and my snuggie blanket. All I need now is a nice mug of hot cocoa!

In the home stretch

I am in the home stretch of training for my new job. I have never wanted a month to be over with as much as I do this month! It has been one busy, stress filled month; new job, sick kiddo and lots of cramming to get gifts completed in time for Christmas.

Next week should be a better week, as my normal schedule will start. This means I will have my mornings free again, so I can go back to my routine of cleaning and what not! And most importantly, going back to the gym!

I wish I would have known earlier that I would have Monday off (Jan 2nd), as I would have planned a mini get away, (but be back in time for Trent to go to work). Even if its just to a nice hotel that has a heated pool with raypak pool heater parts. To just relax in a pool, and hot tub sounds oh so heavenly right now!

I think this will have to be one thing I work on, so we can get away for a few days! John needs the break just as much as I do!

Weekend rewind. If you want to play along, grab the above button and tell me all about your weekend!

Friday ~ I had to work, one of my first day of training at my actual work location. It was a busy day. Then I had to crazy notion of stopping at Barnes and Noble to see if I could find a magazine for a stocking stuffer… ugh! Not the place I wanted to be 2 days before Christmas. I left with no magazine, and then fought the traffic to get out of the mall! Once home, I had dinner, that my hubby made and got busy working on the last two knitting projects for Christmas.

Saturday ~ Up early to get to the store before the crowds got there to get groceries for the week and the last few gifts I needed. Then it was off to finish the projects, make a salad for Christmas, and prepare all of the foods for our Christmas Eve snacks. I had to take a nap, as I knew I wouldn’t make it through the day with all I had to accomplish.

Christopher’s girlfriend came over for out finger food/snacks and movie night. Those two exchanged their gifts, as well as them and us each opening up one gift, which I got the guys all Lions pajama pants, and a set of comfy/fleece jammies for myself. Taylor gave John and I a gift card to Outback.

Sunday ~ Christmas day! I was up before everyone, as I have been for the last few years. I enjoyed the quiet time, and working on some knitting, (had to finish up my father inlaws hat). For the first time ever, John was up before the boys! Finally go them up so we could dive into the presents!

From my hubby, he got me a Sweddish Massage Cushion…. oh heavenly!, a new set of pots and pan, my purple mug, the first book of the Hunger Games, some chocolate, a gift card to IHOP (yum!) and a knitting magazine.

From the boys ~ Trent got me a nice waffle maker and a Tigger mug; from Christopher, a gift card to Best Buy (that will be put with the other gift cards to purchase my Kindle Fire).

Then it was off to the inlaws. From them, I received some $$, an apron that matches my kitchen decor, a puzzle and candy; SIL – John and I got a combo gift of a gift card to Logan’s; UIL – gift card to Hobby Lobby. Lots of good food and family time. I ended up showing my father in law his hat, and then took it back to to complete it (which I did before we left!)

Nasty bug

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family Life

This nasty bug can just leave our house now! I am so over this sickness that Trent has! I need to look into a vacation rentals by owner so I can get away! Between all of us, there has been some sort of illness in our house since October!

I get home from work tonight to find out he has a rash/hives on one arm, that is hot to the touch. Another call to the answering service, to wait for a nurse to call back. Thankfully we didn’t have to bring him in, as I didn’t want to pay the $150 copay to the ER (as all of the urgentcare centers close at 10), just for them to give him benadryl.

So now I can’t sleep in tomorrow (my only day off), as I have to call the doctor office to see what they want to do about the new meds he was put on to try an take care of the pneumonia.

I just need a nice tropical vacation!
