Pool

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family fun, Vacation

Last summer we took a vacation up to Mackinac Island, we had fun biking around the island itself, and then a fun carriage ride around the island. While all this was fun and relaxing, I think John and Trent had more fun playing pool back at the hotel. At first it took a while, as we couldn’t find the pool balls. Normally you would put in your quarters and the balls would pour out the opening. I headed up to the desk, only to find out that they keep the balls there, as people would walk off with them. I don’t get people when they do stuff like this.

I sat off in the corner watching them play several games, when I finally said I wanted to give it a try. I never did get the hang of actually shooting the cue ball, but had fun.

If and when we sell our house and get a bigger one, I want to get a pool table.  I can see this being lots of fun for our family!

Games

Trent has been playing lots of video games lately. Some I just don’t get, and others that I love to play right along with him. He was making up some names for different vehicles in one of the games. When it hit me, I had an assignment to do and thought why not use Plantronics Voyager 520 as one of the vehicles. He thought I was crazy, but not any crazier than some of the names he was coming up with! I think it fit right in with the whole Star Wars games he was playing! John thought it sounded very cool as well!

Hannah’s birthday party

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family fun, birthday's

Trent and I went to my niece’s birthday party today. I still can’t believe she is 7 now! How time flies! She had a Hannah Montana birthday cake. One of her presents was a Hannah Montana outfit, and the look on her face was priceless (you can see a small glimpse of it in the slide show - its the purple outfit).

A movie area…

In our next house I want to have an area set aside for a home theater, with the big, comfy chairs with the cup holders. If they recline all the better. To go along with this I want to have home theater lighting as well. If I am going to do this up, I want to do it right. I remember seeing an episode on Trading Spaces where they did a home theater room that I thought was really cool. I know the boys would love this, just hope my hubby will too!

We got a Wii!!

I was at Target today killing a little time before I had to head to Grand Haven to pick up Trent from his class field trip. I went to see if they had a Wii, and they did, I quickly texted John to see if I could get it. He said ok, but there will be rules… LOL

So I grabbed the sales person and purchased it.We are now getting it all set up. Trent and I have created our Mii characters, now John and Christopher have to do theirs.

We will slowly have to build up our games. So for now we will use the one that came with the game, or rent the games from the video store.

Busy weekend

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family fun, Friends, birthday's

This weekend was a busy one for me! Friday night Trent had a Cross Country meet, he is doing really well at. After the meet we went and got some movies, Waterhorse, Firedog and Snow Buddies. We watched two so far, Waterhorse and Snow Buddies. They both really really cute movies!

Saturday was my day for very little breathing.. LOL. I had my cooking class in the morning, this week was all about cake decorating. We had a lot of fun with this one!! This is my cake, I think it turned out pretty ok!!

We ate this yesterday at a family gathering.

Then it was off to my niece’s 3rd birthday party. Where does the time go? I can’t believe she is 3 already!

Then back home to change and get ready to head off to my final destination for the night, Grace’s baby shower. We went to the Beltline Bar for yummy Mexican food!!! What a fun night, with great food and great friends!!

My baby is almost a teenager…

…in one week my baby will turn 13! Where did the time go?? I want to throw him a nice party, so I need to find the right birthday invitations for his thirteenth birthday! I think we might have the party at Craig’s Cruisers. He really likes going there, so I think that’s what we will do. He will be surprised, as I haven’t told him this yet! He can bring 3 friends with him, as that is all I can fit in my truck. If he wants more, they will have to be dropped off and picked up.

The only thing he knows that we are doing for his birthday is that next Sunday after church we are going to his next favorite place for lunch ~ The Corner Bar in Rockford. He loves chili dogs, and we have found another place that has the best chili dogs. Their old place went out of business, and him and his dad have been really bummed.

Vacation spot?

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family fun, Friends

Outer Banks… could this be a vacation destination for us? It very well could be! They have some gorgeous homes for rent in the Carolina’s! I am going to have to call my girlfriend and see if her family wants to do a joint vacation and rent one of these homes! They have some with their own private pools. I think this would be an awesome family vacation! I hope both our hubby’s agree with us! They can go off and golf, while we take the kids down to the beach! What fun!

What a cute movie! Trent and I went to see this, this morning. It was the movie of the week for the Dove Family Film Festival, so kids are free and only $2.50 for adults! I had received a coupon from Celebration Cinema’s for my birthday for a free popcorn. So we got off kinda cheap for a movie today!! YaY! Now he is asking what movie will be seeing tomorrow.. uhhh none, unless you find one of ours we haven’t seen in a while, as mom is B.R.O.K.E. ! I do want to rent the “Bee Movie”, so maybe tomorrow we can head to the video store, as it is 2 for 1 day!

Thursday we are going bowling, thanks the the free bowling coupon we got in the mail!! I have been taking him and my nieces bowling on Spring Break for a few years now, and wasn’t going to let me not having a job stop our little tradition. I can’t wait to see the girls!!
