Not very much
Posted by: Jodi : Category: Family Life
The other day I got my social security statement in the mail. Looking through it, makes me wonder if I made the right choice in doing daycare for all these years? If anything should happen, my social security disability payments won’t happen, as I don’t have enough credits to have any money to be paid out if I become disabled. At this rate I have to work until 70… just to get $500 per month. Yikes! Hopefully John’s will be a much better statement! His should be arriving soon, so I can check things out.

I don’t have enough work credit or whatever it is called to even receive anything at this point. Such is the life of a housewife. Ugh!

Well… since I’ve never been a ‘housewife’ I will do ok when I’m 70. About $1600 or so… can’t remember the exact number. But, I have to make it to 70, cause it’s a lot lower at 65. Since I just bought my house a few months ago, and have a 30 year mortgage… I probably better plan on working until I’m 75! ($1082 a month mortgage) yikes!
Honestly though, it will be a miracle if we have any social security at ALL by the time we are in our 70′s.
