Designing our house

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Family

My hubby, who is the biggest procrastinator is now wanting to desgin our own house.  I have to laugh, as it is like pulling teeth to get him to finish up the projects he needs to in our house now so we can get it on the market.  He has only wanted to sell this house for oh lets say, 3 years.  Ey-yi-yi.

So anyways, he and Trent were busy over on the desktop designing a house on autocad while I browsed the net on the laptop and found this house:

They kept asking for my input, so I said, well this is what I want.  They just rolled their eyes at me, and said, you can’t copy someone else’s design, we have to do it ourselves.  So I said, “Well then just incorporate this design into your drawing and it will be ours, cause this is what I want!”

Will this happen, probably not, as I said, my hubby is a procrastinator! But its fun to dream.

Business stuff

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Uncategorized

Now that I am back into Pampered Chef, I want to get some custom magnets as my business cards. I have seen this done for other home base business’ and thought it was a clever idea. I need to get a new stamp so I can stamp all my catalogs and order forms to save me time and writers cramp.

I love that Vista print dot com has awesome deals, or free items, and that you only have to pay for shipping. I have a lot of things I want to get from this company. You can get so many cool things from this website. I will be all set for a small fee, business cards (on magnets), pens, note paper, thank you notes, stationary, return address labels. You can even get clothing and hats with your own designs on them.

So if you are looking for a great company to get some business supplies, head on over to vista print dot com. You won’t be disappointed in anything you purchase. I know that I have been pleased in the past and will continue to do business with this company.

I am off to make some purchases of my own.  Happy Shopping!

Helicopter crash

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Accident

What a scary situation for everyone at the hospital and surrounding area this morning. The following article is from WZZM 13 website:

Grand Rapids - A news conference was held this afternoon to discuss the details of a helicopter crash at Spectrum Butterworth. It happened a little after 11:08 a.m.

Matt VanVranken, President of Spectrum Health, confirms the helicopter crashed on the helipad located on the 11th floor of the hospital. VanVranken says there was a pilot and one passenger on board when the helicopter crashed on the helipad. They were able to escape before the helicopter caught on fire. The FAA says the helicopter was on a training mission, practicing approaches to the hospital.

An eyewitness said the helicopter landed, then lifted off and got to about 100 feet. According to the witness, it looked like the rear rotor clipped an antenna and the helicopter crashed down onto the helipad and rolled on its side. There is not much left of the helicopter.

Patients and staff have been evacuated from the top floors of the hospital. Those who were on the 8th floor or below are now back in their rooms. Surgeries scheduled today have been postponed and ambulances were the only vehicles given access to the hospital. At one point, there was a loss of power. But it has since been restored.

Emergency crews are responding from all across the city. Some of the main roads around the hospital are being re-opened. The Grand Rapids Police Department reports that some side roads will remain closed to allow investigators to search for debris.

Spectrum Health Emergency is closed. All emergencies are being routed to St. Mary’s Hospital.

This scene isn’t to far from my house.

Thankfully there were no fatalities from this accident.

Amish Country

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Amish

I had an awesome time with my friend Shannon on Saturday with our trip to Amish Country. She introduced me to her pen pal, V. She is really nice. We toured the country sides, snapping pictures left and right. I took over 100 pictures. There were these two cute little boys, that had the rounded faces that we saw walking to the road, to make their way some where. You will see them in the slide show that will follow this post.

We got the opportunity to sit in one of the buggies, now we are itching to get our chance to actually ride in one! Just visiting for the day, made all the books I have read, come to life, per say. We would love to visit again, on a Sunday when it is their church day, just to see all the buggies in one place. I was amazed at how many school houses they had in such a small area, and at one we had to chuckle when we saw the outhouse, they had it in one huge one with two door, marked “girls, boys”.

I am waiting for her to find me a pen pal to write to. Oh Shannon…. step on it *wink*.

Enjoy the slide show.
