2007 winding down…

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Uncategorized

Do you have any plans for New Years Eve? We will be staying home, watching some movies, playing games and watching the ball drop, and then going to bed soon after.

I got a chuckle out of the comic Luann in today’s paper, it shows the kids discussing with each other about their big plans for the evening, when:

Dad asks mom if they will be having popcorn, watch Dick Clark, then in bed by 12:01
Mom~ probably.
Dad ~ good why knock ourselves out trying to have fun.
Mom ~ We could try for 12:15 if you’re up to it.

This is so me and John! I told him I was going to take a nice long nap so I would be able to make it until at least midnight, we shall see if I do.

Car Angel Ministries

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Uncategorized

Have you known anyone who has donate car? This awesome agency, Car angel dot com, is a non profit company who uses car donations to make these really cool videos for kids. You also get these great advantages if you donate your car:

* Receive your IRS tax deduction for the automobile, RV, boat, plane, or trailer.
* Free vehicle pick-up, running or not! (restrictions apply).
* Avoid the headaches of selling your Used Car — no expensive want ads, taking phone calls, showing the car, or price haggling.
* They have the nations fastest online response form and up to the minute tax advice.
* They handle the title work and repair negotiations!

This ministry enables you to use your vehicle, boat or trailer to help single mothers, homeless, teen and adult rehab, food distribution and orphans. What a great ministry! I will keep them in mind if we ever decide to donate any of our cars!

This is just a sample of the videos they make:

Hubby wants one…

…of these. Its a nice looking ride, but right now it just doesn’t fit into our budget. He has been drooling over all the Chrysler 300 accessory he could get to upgrade this car. I like the looks of the black one, but he and Trent like the red one. He’s been told that if he wants to get a new car, he needs to either get a raise, a better paying job, or take on a second job just to pay for the added expense. For now he can browse all the different sites, or go to the dealer and take a test drive.

Appetizer
Name 2 things you would like to accomplish in 2008. 1. To lose the last 10 pounds and keep it off for good! 2. To get caught up in my scrapbooking!

Soup
With which cartoon character do you share personality traits? I “borrowed” this quiz from Bethany’s blog… and according to that I am Tweety.

You are cute, and everyone loves you. You are a best friend that no one takes the chance of losing. You never hurt feelings and seldom have your own feelings hurt. Life is a breeze. You are witty, and calm most of the time. Just keep clear of back stabbers, and you are worry-free.

Salad
What time of day (or night) were you born? I was born at 6:19 am… we just looked at our birth certificates this past weekend LOL

Main Course
Tell us something special about your hometown. Uh… if you blink you will miss it

Dessert
If you could receive a letter from anyone in the world, who would you want to get one from? I would love to get one from my biological father.

Come feast with others over at Friday Feast

Know and Tell Friday ~ week 4

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: know and tell Friday

know-and-tell.jpg

Want to play along? Go visit To Know Him.

Question 1
What is the name of your very first friend? this would be Jeanine Castenholz. We have been friends for just about 35 years! She is more like a sister than a friend.

Question 2
Do you believe in love at first sight? yep… that’s what it was for me and my hubby.

Question 3
Clean Freak or Total Slob? I am a total clean freak! I am very anal about things too, it drives everyone in my house nuts! Right now it is taking everything I got to not go into my oldest room to clean, I just make sure his door is closed.. ey-yi-yi!

Question 4
Last book you read? “74 Seaside Avenue” by Debbie Macomber. This is the latest in her Cedar Cove Series books. I love them! A little description of the book:

Now that she has married the famous chess champion, Teri Polgar is living a life she couldn’t have dreamed of a few years ago. She and Bobby live in a beautiful home with one of Cedar Cove’s loveliest views of Puget Sound. But something’s been worrying Bobby lately, and he’s become overly protective. When Teri asks him what’s on his mind, he’ll only say he’s “protecting his queen,” but Teri is certain he isn’t talking about chess but about her.

Teri still enjoys working at Get Nailed, the beauty salon in Cedar Cove, along with her good friend, Rachel. The truth is that Rachel has two men interested in her, a Navy man and the father of a girl whose mother died and whom Rachel has taken under her wing.

There’s so much more going on in the friendly little town. After her boyfriend fell in love with another woman, Linette McAfee decided to leave town, to start a new life. Justine and Seth Gunderson have decided to open a Tea Room after losing The Lighthouse restaurant to arson. It looks like the art gallery might close! And Sheriff Troy Davis has a mystery to solve! There’s never a dull moment in Cedar Cove!

Bonus Question
Give me one word that would sum up your goals for 2008? Exercise
