I really, really hate the State of Michigan right now! Our lovely govenment can’t seem to agree on how to balance our budget. Well I have an awesome idea!! Just get rid of all the men/women in elected offices, as we don’t need a full time government. This would make a drastic difference in our ever growing debt! Heck they never should have gotten that raise of 38% a few years ago… and this is for so many people! What the heck!? What really ticked me off, they sent several of our legislators to Hawaii (mind you on tax payers dollars) for a semi vacation to see if they could balance our budget. Our loverly Governor goes over seas with several legislators to observe foreign governments. Pretty messed up, eh?

This article on WZZM 13 is such a joke! Like shutting down these government areas will make a difference in our budget! This article as well! There are so many other things that they could do (like what I mentioned above) to help with our budget. What good will it do to force 18 school districts to close? This will only further hurt our kids and our state in a whole. We have so many people out of work right now, and more and more families are leaving the state just to find jobs!

I am grateful my husbands company has been one of the remaining Die shops that hasn’t gone under. But I still fear it will one day. If this happens, we will probably move out of the state. Which would take forever, as our house probably won’t sell, as no houses right now in Michigan are selling right now.

The economy just sucks right now! Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the nation (7.4%) and foreclosures spiraling out of control, the last thing our residents need is to pay more in taxes!

Gov. Granholm is now demanding a income tax spike to 4.6% with NO SPENDING CUTS or reforms! Raising our taxes is just wrong! People can’t pay their bills now as it is. There will be no way for them to do this if the tax increase goes through! She needs to be stopped!

I have so much more to say on this, but my blood pressure is just boiling right now! Grrrr!

Trista over at The Pumpkin Patch has started a Tasty Thursday meme that I think is a great idea! No theme this week, but come back next week its all about your favorite fall foods.

Peachy Pork Chops

4 pork chops
1 Tbs. shortening
4 tsp. chopped onion
2 Tbs brown sugar
2 Tbs. prepared mustard (yellow or spicy mustard)
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
4 green pepper rings
4 canned peach halves

Brown chops in shortening. Sprinkle with salt, place in baking dish. Sprinkle with onion, cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Combine sugar, mustard and worchestershire sauce (I normally double this). Uncover chops and spread with half of the mixture. Bake uncovered 20 minutes longer.

Brush chops with remaining mixture. Top each with a pepper ring and peach half. Bake 10 minutes longer.

Serve over rice.

My sister in law just got back some pictures of a photo session and these pictures would go perfectly in a digital frame. I wish I could show you some of the pictures as they turned out so flippin’ cute! She told me that I can pick out which ones I like, but I am having a hard time, and I can just imagine the hard time she is having. (I just found out I can share them with you, so here is one of the shots)

This is a picture of them, they are the cutest girls ever!!

And here I thought Trent was the spitting image of his dad, but according to this he looks more like me by a whopping 5%.

His and Her Phones

Isn’t that cute?? LOL We get to order our new phones tomorrow, which came as a surprise as we thought we had to wait until November. We could do this tonight at a discounted price, but if we wait until tomorrow (even tho its only like 2 hours until tomorrow) we could get them both for free. I just might stay up until midnight just to get them ordered *giggle*.

While talking with customer service tonight I was walked through how to download all of my info so I can get it transferred to the new phone. But my hubby, he may not be so lucky. He had a little temper tantrum and broke his phone. I wasn’t going to let him get a new phone, but I hate not being able to get a hold of him if we aren’t together, so I gave in and said we could get him one as well.

Then I learned that I could actually upload all of my pics online! Yay! And that I can print them off if I want and what not. I am so very excited, as I have the cutest one of my nieces, that I can’t wait to share with my SIL and brother!!

I am so excited!! Can’t wait for them to arrive!! I hope the car chargers we have already will fit the new phones as well as the ear piece I have for my phone now. I don’t want to have to go out and buy a new one, but thinking I might have to. But hey I will have a new phone, that will be slim enough to put in my back pocket if need be.
