Happy Halloween!!

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Uncategorized

Well I have been trying all morning to post my Tackle it Tuesday pics, but blogger is being a pain! So I will have to save it for next week!

I had a busy weekend, on Friday a friend came over and we scrapbooked for a few hours and had a good ole gab fest! On Saturday, we had a family b-day/halloween party to go to. I wasn’t going to dress up (as I posted in my Friday Feast post, I don’t like to dress up), but I got talked into it by my SIL, I dug out my scrubs and went as a nurse. We had a good time. I have some pics to post, but again blogger is being a pain! I will try to come back in and post them later.

Sunday we missed church again as John and Christopher were still working on his brakes. They spent all weekend working on them. What should have been an easy task, turned into a major project and set Christopher back about $170!

I will be going around with Trent for a bit in our neighborhood for TOTing and then will be meeting my SIL and nieces to go to her work with the kids. This is also a short school week for Trent, he has Thursday and Friday off for something, as next week is conferences and will have half days on Thursday and Friday as well. I have to figure out how I will be getting him, as that is the same time my kindergartener gets out (daycare kiddo). I might have to enlist the help of a friend *fingers crossed* she can help.

John and I have been doing this Bible study called Cleasning Stream for the last 10 weeks. It has been an awesome experience, and will come to a close this Friday/Saturday at a retreat. It will be a great time in the Lord and some couple time for us. Trent will be spending the weekend at grandmas, and has been looking forward to this for quite some time.

That’s it for now. Time to get some lunch and then back to see if blogger will be nice and let me post some pics!!

Thursday Thirteen #14

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen of my favorite quotes from T. D. Jakes.

1. You are either saved or you aren’t. It’s a state of being, not a state of becoming. If you were made alive in Christ, then you are alive in Christ.

2. Expect God in all His varied forms. He is a master of disguise, a guiding star in the night, a lily growing in the valley, or an answered prayer sent on the breath of an angel.

3. We need to renew our minds daily in God’s presence. His thinking is contagious. As you meditate on Him, His Word becomes a lifeline thrown to a woman who would otherwise drown in the swirling whirlpool of her own thoughts.

4. A true friend i sone who stands by you, honoring and affirming you. A true friend should desire to see you prosper in your marriage, in your finances, in your health and in your spirituality.

5. Friendship is different from family love, which is not chosen but accepted. Friendship develops like moss on the slippery edges of a creek. It is real and powerful, sweet and biter. Kindred spirits, warm and fitting as a pair of old house shoes.

6. Put the truth in your spirit and feed, nurture, and allow it to grow. Quit telling yourself, “you’re too fat, too old, too late, or too ignorant.” Stop feeding yourself that garbage.

7. The best people to help others are not just those who studied life in a book. It is those who lived it out on the stage of reality. You will never be healed until you use your pain to heal someone else.

8. God explained taht birthing comes through sorrow. Everything you bring forth comes through pain. If it didn’t come through pain, it probably wasn’t worth much.

9. Go quickly into His presence; climb upon His knee; lay your head on His breast. Cry if you must, but talk to Him. Let Him cleanse you of sin and purge you of pride. He loves you just as much when He says no as he does when He says yes.

10. Thank God today for making you exactly the way you are and for transforming you daily into exactly the woman He wants you to be. You are without comparison in His eyes.

11. From the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, all that I am belongs to God. Early in the morning I will seek His face. I lie upon my bed at night and call on His name. I’ll touch Him, embrace Him. He is the God of my salvation.

12. You are carrying old pain, old scars, dead relationships, or even a torch for someone who has moved on, I counsel you to abort anything that is draining your life and blurring your vision.

13. Your praise is likely to be related directly to your former pain. The greater the pain, the greater your praise. If you have never been bound, you have no idea how good it feels to be free.

All of these are found in my Bible, “Woman Thou Art Loosed!” by T. D. Jakes ~ known as his Gospel Pearls.

Waterbeds…

Posted by: Jodi  :  Category: Uncategorized

Oh my! What a mess. Last night I had went up to my room to do something, I forget now, but as I walked in I noticed a dark spot on the bed skirt, and when I got closer I stepped on a wet floor. OH NO! Upon further inspection I find out the corner of the mattress is wet. I unzipped the mattress and see water… one of the tubes had sprung a leak OR my lovely child did something. I questioned him, he had this “look”, so I thought, he messed with it. We got out lots of towels, dried it up, put the bedding in the wash (mind you this was at 9:45 last night). I finally got the bed remade at midnight.

This morning I checked the bed and found more water. So I knew we had a leak, and it wasn’t poor Trent who messed with the bed. So I had to apologize to him. I got the rest of the towels and dried it all up again, and then folded the tubes in half, but with 4 on one end, and the other 4 on the other end to see if I could narrow it down. That worked, I got it narrowed down to just 4, which is good, as these tubes aren’t cheap ~ average price $25 + shipping. Out of those 4 I think I figured out which one it was, so that is in the bathtub right now, I have to go back up and check the other 3 in a bit to see if I am correct. ** I found the correct one ** Yay me! Now to see where the actual leak is, to see if we can patch it (if we can find the patch kit) or just find someplace here in town to get a replacement tube.

That just stinks…

So tonight I had a Tastefully Simple party, I had people RSVP saying they would be there. Not one darn person showed up! So now I have lots of dips just sitting here… The guys can eat some of them while watching the World Series, but we will still have lots leftover. So I gues I am done having home parties… I may go to them at other peoples houses, but no more at my house! All that work to get the house ready, and dips made for noone to show up

On a lucky streak

Two weeks ago when I was up at the Red Flannel Festival I entered a scrapbook drawing at a local scrapbook store, thinking I wouldn’t win, as there were tons of people who probably entered.

Well… I got a phone call on Friday night saying I had won 3rd Place! Yay! I went and picked up my prize last night while on my way to help my brother move into his new house. John had said on the way up there, “Watch they are going to hand you a gift certificate that will say, $5 off on your next $50 purchase.” Wrong!! This is what was in my package. Lots of cool stuff! I will be going to a crop this Friday at my SIL’s house so I will get to play with some of the stuff I received!!

Now I am waiting to see what I win in the other contest I entered that I was notified I had been selected to move onto the semi finals. Fall is here people! Let’s get the contest rolling! LOL I know my kitty is a winner!!

Well that’s it for now. I have to get the guys up and moving or we will be late for church yet again!
